Abia Traditional Rulers confer ‘Ike Oha 1’ title on Tinubu
The Umunneochi Traditional Rulers’ Advisory Council in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State has conferred the chieftaincy title of “Ike Oha 1 of Umunneochi” on President Bola Tinubu.
The title, which translates to “the strength of the people,” was bestowed during a civic reception held in Amuda Isuochi in honour of the immediate past Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the council and Ezema III of Lokpa, Eze Franklin Ohalezim, said the honour was in recognition of Tinubu’s appointment of Onyejeocha into his cabinet.
“President Tinubu gave our daughter the opportunity to serve her people and contribute meaningfully to national development,” he said.
Responding on behalf of the President, the National Welfare Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Donatus Nwankpa, expressed appreciation to the traditional rulers for the honour and for supporting Onyejeocha’s service at the national level.
Tinubu, in his message, noted that it was not easy for him to accept Onyejeocha’s resignation and urged the royal fathers to continue supporting her as she pursues further political ambitions.
