UI, UNILAG 200, ABU Zaria 180 – Nigerian Universities reveal Jamb cut off mark for 2026 admission (Full List)

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board) has approved and released the 2026 minimum cut-off marks for admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions, with universities setting varying benchmarks depending on competitiveness and course demands.

According to the board, the figures represent the minimum requirements for admission consideration, while institutions retain the discretion to set higher cut-off marks for highly competitive courses such as Medicine, Law, Pharmacy, and Engineering.

Among the key decisions, Lagos State University (Lagos State University) and Lagos State University of Science and Technology fixed 195, while Lagos State University of Education adopted 185 as their minimum cut-off marks.

Several top federal universities maintained a uniform cut-off of 200, including the University of Ibadan (University of Ibadan), University of Lagos (University of Lagos), Obafemi Awolowo University (Obafemi Awolowo University), University of Nigeria, Nsukka (University of Nigeria Nsukka), and University of Benin (University of Benin).

Other institutions were placed across different cut-off brackets ranging from 220 to 150, with private universities like Covenant University (Covenant University) set at 200, while institutions such as Afe Babalola University (Afe Babalola University) and Ahmadu Bello University (Ahmadu Bello University) fixed 180.

The policy also shows that several federal and state universities—including University of Ilorin (University of Ilorin), University of Jos (University of Jos), and Babcock University (Babcock University)—were placed within the 160–180 cut-off range.

Institutions such as Adamawa State University (Adamawa State University) and others in the 150 bracket were also included in the approved list.

The annual policy meeting where the decision was taken is expected to guide admissions for the 2026 academic session, with institutions expected to commence screening based on the newly approved thresholds.
