Just In: ADA, party seeking NDC deregistration loses bid in court to secure registration as party

The Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a suit challenging the refusal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), describing the case as lacking merit.

The suit, which sought to compel INEC to grant the party registration, was thrown out after the court held that the applicants failed to establish sufficient legal grounds to support their request.

INEC had earlier declined to register the political association, a decision that prompted the legal challenge before the Federal High Court.

In its ruling, the court affirmed INEC’s position and dismissed the case in its entirety.
