‘I was only defending myself’ – Mr Jollof issues apology after in-flight clash with VDM
Nigerian comedian Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, popularly known as Mr Jollof, has addressed the in-flight confrontation he had with social media personality VeryDarkMan.
Speaking in an Instagram video on Tuesday, he explained what led to the incident, stressing that he is not a violent person and only reacted to protect himself.
Mr Jollof also issued a heartfelt apology to passengers for the delay caused by the clash. He further apologised to the National Civil Aviation Authority and United Nigeria Airlines, expressing regret for any inconvenience the situation may have caused.
“I want to use this medium to sincerely apologise to the NCAA, United Nigeria Airlines, and the passengers. I was only defending myself. You guys saw what happened. I am very sorry if I delayed your appointment. I’m very sorry. Pardon me. I am not that kind of person; it will never happen again. And to my lovely wife, I know you are proud of me. And to my kids, I’m sorry, daddy will never do this again,” he stated.
He also claimed that he was under attack, stressing that he was only defending himself.
Very Nigerian had reported that VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof may face criminal prosecution following their clash aboard a United Nigeria Airlines flight on Monday.
