All passengers feared dead as Plane conveying tourists crashes in Kenya
A small aircraft traveling from Kenya’s coastal region to the Maasai Mara National Park crashed early Tuesday, with all 12 people on board feared dead, according to the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA).
The plane, which departed from Diani, a popular tourist destination on Kenya’s coast, was headed to the private Kichwa Tembo airstrip when it went down around 5:30 a.m. local time (0230 GMT).
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
“The aircraft had 12 persons on board,” the KCAA said in a statement, adding that relevant government agencies were already at the crash site to establish the cause of the accident.

The tragic incident comes just months after a light aircraft belonging to the medical NGO Amref crashed on the outskirts of Nairobi in August, killing six people and injuring two others.
