Eedris Abdulkareem announces son as official DJ
Veteran Nigerian rapper and singer, Eedris Abdulkareem, has introduced his only son, Abdulraheem, as the official DJ of his record label, Lakreem Entertainment.
The ‘Jagajaga’ crooner made the announcement on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at De Santos Hotel in the Akowonjo area of Lagos State.
Abdulkareem unveiled Abdulraheem while presenting the lineup of activities and plans scheduled by Lakreem Entertainment.
“This is to officially announce my son, Abdulraheem Abdulkareem aka DJ Papi to the world as the official DJ of Lakreem record as well as the official DJ for Eedris Abdulkareem. He’s a talented young man, who showed interest in music and basketball at a young age and as a family, we have supported him,” he said.
Continuing, Abdulkareem said, “When he told me he wanted to do this, I first put him through the rudiments after which I bought him the needed equipment and enrolled him in a training facility where he came out as a top DJ. Since he came of age and I have seen his performances, I have been working with him as my official and we have performed at some shows. I pay him his dues and he keeps learning and striving to be the best. He’s also a professional basketballer, which he took from his mum.”
In a brief chat with the younger Abdulkareem and DJ, he expressed that it’s a defining moment for his career and he hopes to leverage on the opportunity from his dad to achieve so much in the music industry.
This is coming just as Eedris Abdulkareem announced his new project, Nigerian Governors’ report card series, which is set to torchlight activities of all the state governors in Nigeria.
