Tambuwal meets Defence Minister, seeks urgent action on Sokoto insecurity
Senator Aminu Tambuwal, representing Sokoto South, has met with the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd.), to discuss the worsening security situation in Sokoto State.
Tambuwal said in a post on his verified X account on Friday that he met the minister alongside the lawmaker representing Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
According to him, the meeting focused on the persistent security challenges affecting Kebbe and Tambuwal Local Government Areas as well as other parts of the state.
Tambuwal said they conveyed the concerns of their constituents and called for increased security presence, more operational resources and sustained efforts to protect lives and property.
He added that stronger security measures were needed to enable residents to go about their businesses and livelihoods without fear.
According to him, the minister assured them of the commitment of the Federal Government to addressing the situation and pledged additional resources and operational support to strengthen security operations in the affected areas.
“We appreciate these assurances and look forward to their swift translation into action on the ground.
“The security and wellbeing of our people remain paramount. We will continue to engage all relevant authorities and pursue every necessary intervention until lasting peace and security are restored to our communities,” he tweeted.
