2027 poll: ‘Do not spare anyone who criticizes Gov Idris, I will bail you out’ – Kebbi council Chairman tells supporters
The Chairman of Gwandu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Atiku Ahmad Mandiya, has allegedly directed his supporters to “deal with” anyone who speaks against Governor Nasir Idris ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Mandiya reportedly made the statement while addressing supporters in Hausa at a political gathering in Kebbi State.
A video of the event, obtained by Very Nigerian on Thursday, showed the council chairman issuing the directive to his supporters.
He also urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure that at least one party supporter is stationed at every polling unit during the elections to “protect” the party’s interests.
“We should get at least one person to stand at each polling unit that will protect our interests.
“Anybody who comes to say anything against Governor Idris should be dealt with. I will bail the person out if arrested,” Mandiya said.
The remarks have raised concerns over possible intimidation and violence as political parties intensify preparations and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
Mandiya’s comments also come amid growing concerns over inflammatory political rhetoric and the potential for violence during the electoral process.
