Who Is Amin Dalhatu Mohammed? Profile, story of a distinguished Nigerian envoy

Amin Dalhatu Mohammed is a respected Nigerian career diplomat and Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, known for his long-standing service in international relations and bilateral engagement.
He has built a solid reputation within the Nigerian Foreign Service for advancing national interests and strengthening Nigeria’s ties with strategic global partners.
He previously served as Nigeria’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Korea from 2017 to 2023, following his appointment under President Muhammadu Buhari.
He assumed duty after presenting his Letters of Credence in September 2017.
During his tenure in Seoul, Ambassador Mohammed led the Embassy of Nigeria with a focus on deepening Nigeria–Korea relations.
He supervised diplomatic and consular operations, promoted trade and investment opportunities, facilitated cultural exchanges, and worked to expand government-to-government cooperation between both countries.
Before his ambassadorial posting, he built an extensive career within the Nigerian Foreign Service, serving in various missions and departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Over the years, he contributed to key aspects of Nigeria’s foreign policy implementation and completed advanced diplomatic training through the Nigerian Foreign Service.
In recognition of his experience and service, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu transmitted his name to the Nigerian Senate yesterday for confirmation as an Ambassador-Designate.
