Adamawa Gov picks Chairman, two commissioners for electricity commission
The governor said the nominees were needed to work towards generating reliable electricity for residents of Adamawa State.
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has nominated a chairman and two commissioners for the newly established Adamawa State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Fintiri forwarded the names of Bako Alhaji Rabiu as chairman, alongside Shanti Victoria Sashi and Adamu Jibrilla as commissioners, to the Adamawa State House of Assembly for confirmation.
In a letter sent to the lawmakers, the governor urged the Assembly to approve the nominees to lead the commission and support efforts to improve electricity supply across the state.
The governor said the nominees were needed to work towards generating reliable electricity for residents of Adamawa State.
“The commission was created with a mandate of providing a legal framework for the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity in Adamawa State,” Fintiri explained to the Assembly.
He added that the commission would be expected to explore the abundant sources of power in the state to generate electricity.
