Transcorp Hilton Abuja showcases innovation, CSR at Media appreciation event
The management of Transcorp Hilton Abuja on Tuesday hosted top media executives to a special evening of networking and appreciation, reaffirming its commitment to sustaining a strong and mutually beneficial partnership with the Nigerian media.
The event, themed “Media Cocktail Reception,” brought together prominent journalists, senior editors, and members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, led by its Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike.
Among the Transcorp Hilton Abuja management team present were the General Manager, Mr. Martin Zarybnicky; Communications and Marketing Manager, Ijeoma Osuji; Hotel Manager, Mohamed Said Khalil; Commercial Director, Betty Aguiyi-Ironsi; Brand and Marketing Manager, Ifeanyi Nnadi; and Director of Sales, Ekun Daniel Friday.
In his welcome address, Mr. Zarybnicky expressed heartfelt appreciation to the media for their continuous support and positive reportage over the years.
He described his experience in Nigeria since assuming duty in August as “remarkable and deeply rewarding,” commending Nigerians for their warmth, hospitality, and loyalty to the Hilton brand.
“This is definitely the leading hotel in Africa, and we are very proud of this brand after thirty years of excellence.”
“In my three months in Nigeria, I have found your country to be amazing, the sense of humor, the food, and the people. We at Hilton appreciate everyone and look forward to more working relationships with the media,” he said.
Zarybnicky reaffirmed the hotel’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with journalists, describing the media as vital partners in growth, innovation, and community engagement within the hospitality industry.
He also assured that Transcorp Hilton’s doors would always remain open to the press for enquiries, engagement, and partnership opportunities that highlight the hotel’s services and achievements.
During the event, the Communications and Marketing Manager, Ijeoma Osuji, gave a presentation showcasing the hotel’s innovative hospitality offerings and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
She revealed that in 2025 alone, Transcorp Hilton recycled over 15,000 kilograms of waste through eco-friendly processes and supported hundreds of individuals, including persons living with disabilities.
Notable attendees included the Immediate Past President of the NUJ, Chief Chris Isiguzo (MFR); Deputy Managing Director of Arise News, Bayo Awosemo; NUJ FCT Council Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike; Council Secretary, Comrade Sandra Udeike; and Council Auditor, Rosemary Ukoko-Tega, among others.
