Abiy Ahmed reappointed Prime Minister of Ethiopia

Ethiopia’s parliament has reappointed Abiy Ahmed as the country’s prime minister following his party’s victory in the June elections.
The reappointment was announced on Monday during a televised parliamentary session by the newly elected Speaker of Parliament, Ahmed Shide.
“Abiy Ahmed is hereby appointed as the prime minister of Ethiopia,” Shide declared.
Abiy, who has served as prime minister since 2018, will continue leading the government following the election victory secured by his party.
