BREAKING: Security forces rescue 20 NYSC members from abductors in Imo
Twenty prospective members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and a civilian have been rescued after they were abducted while travelling through Imo State.
The victims were freed during an intelligence-led operation carried out by a joint team of security agencies, including the military, Department of State Services (DSS), police and other security personnel.
The prospective corps members were reportedly travelling through the state when they were abducted, prompting security agencies to launch an operation to track down their captors and secure their release.
Following intelligence gathering and coordinated efforts, the security operatives located and rescued all 21 victims.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to tackle kidnapping and other criminal activities along major routes in the state.
The rescued victims are currently receiving medical attention at a DSS facility, according to security sources, while efforts are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the abduction and apprehend any remaining suspects.
