Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez was carried off on a stretcher after suffering a worrying head injury during his side’s victory over Everton.

The Argentina World Cup winner collided with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite while both players challenged for the ball in the 75th minute.

While Branthwaite was able to continue playing after receiving treatment, Martinez required further medical attention on the pitch.

The 34-year-old, who was able to move his arms as he was carried off, was replaced by Mike Penders.
