Afenifere Leader Reuben Fasoranti passes away at 100
Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, a prominent leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, is dead.
Very Nigerian reported that Fasoranti’s death was confirmed in Akure, Ondo State, on Tuesday.
Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa announced the elder statesman’s death in a condolence statement issued on behalf of the state government.
Fasoranti, a respected elder statesman and prominent voice in Yoruba affairs, died at 100.
Aiyedatiwa described the deceased as a patriarch and a beacon of wisdom, integrity, and selfless service, whose life was devoted to the development of Ondo State, Yorubaland, and Nigeria.
The governor said Fasoranti’s counsel, fatherly guidance and principled positions on justice and good governance would be sorely missed.
