Peter Obi, Dickson, Babachir Lawal meet as NDC prepares for 2027 Campaign Council
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has begun preparations for the inauguration of its National Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Former Bayelsa State Governor Henry Seriake Dickson disclosed this after a meeting with the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas; and members of the National Working Committee.
Dickson said the meeting focused on the party’s preparations for the forthcoming elections and plans to coordinate its campaign activities nationwide.
According to him, the proposed National Campaign Council will oversee campaigns for all NDC candidates, covering the presidential, National Assembly, governorship and state House of Assembly elections.
He added that consultations would continue ahead of the council’s scheduled unveiling and inauguration on Monday.
Dickson said the party was working towards a coordinated nationwide campaign involving candidates contesting at different levels of government.
The planned inauguration is expected to mark another step in the NDC’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.
