Peculiar Widows Forum honours AMMC coordinator, Felix Obuah, at 63

Members of the Peculiar Widows’ Forum on Tuesday stormed Abuja to celebrate the 63rd birthday of the Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Chief Felix Amaechi Obuah, in recognition of his long-standing humanitarian and philanthropic support.

The widows, who travelled from Makurdi, Benue State, described the visit as a mark of gratitude to a man they said had consistently shown compassion to the vulnerable, regardless of state, ethnic or religious affiliation.

Leading the delegation, Mrs. Regina Peter said the group considered it important to honour Chief Obuah for what she described as his uncommon commitment to lifting widows and the less privileged out of hardship.

“I thank this man of vision and compassion who chose to wipe tears from our eyes,” she said. “The Bible says whoever gives to a widow gives to God. He has become our prayer point. We pray for him constantly.”

“We have people in government positions among us, yet none came to our aid. A stranger did, and by God’s grace, he will go far and fulfil his destiny.”

Also speaking, the Secretary of the Peculiar Widows’ Forum, Mrs. Esther Dominic, described Chief Obuah as a hero and father figure who genuinely cares for the less privileged.

“He has shown us real love,” she said. “When no one remembered us, he provided food and support. Even though we are not from Rivers or Delta states, he has always been there for us, giving us hope despite the challenges of insurgency and hardship.”

The widows prayed for divine favour upon him, expressing confidence that his personal and political aspirations would be fulfilled.

“We deemed it fit to honour him today. Whatever he is asking God for, he will surely receive. Better days lie ahead for him,” one of the widows added.

Responding, Chief Obuah expressed gratitude to the delegation, describing their visit as deeply humbling.

“Today marks another year in my life, and I thank God for good health and happiness,” he said. “I did not plan any celebration, but the love shown by these widows who travelled all the way from Makurdi means a lot to me. I give God all the glory.”

He reaffirmed his commitment to humanitarian service, saying he would continue to support the needy in whatever way he could.

“I believe no matter how little, help should go round. I will continue to put smiles on faces and add value to lives,” he said.

Chief Obuah, a businessman and philanthropist, currently heads the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, where he oversees initiatives aimed at improving urban development, security, environmental sanitation and infrastructure within the Federal Capital Territory.

He is widely known for his charitable interventions across Nigeria, particularly in education, healthcare and support for vulnerable groups, with many describing him as a leader defined by humility, integrity and compassion.

The low-key birthday gathering, observers noted, was a reflection of a life devoted to service and the quiet impact of compassion on society.
