BREAKING: Tinubu appoint ambassadors To USA, France, 2 other European Countries
These postings are part of the 68 ambassadorial confirmations by the Senate last December, with four now approved for immediate assignment
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the postings of four ambassador-designates, selected from the 68 nominees confirmed by the Senate last December.
The announcement was made on Thursday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
President Tinubu confirmed the appointment of Ambassador Ayodele Oke as Nigeria’s envoy to France, and Colonel Lateef Are as ambassador-designate to the United States of America.
Also approved were Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, a former envoy to South Korea, as High Commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom, and Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, ex-Governor of Kebbi State, as ambassador-designate to Turkey, where the President is scheduled to commence a state visit next week.
In a memo directed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the President instructed that the governments of the four countries be formally notified of the postings, in line with established diplomatic protocols.
