Aisha Buhari, Daughter meet Atiku Abubakar amid Lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia
Atiku shared a photo of the meeting on social media, describing the visit as an honour.
The widow of former President Muhammadu Buhari, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, paid a courtesy visit to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in Saudi Arabia.
The former First Lady was accompanied by her daughter, Hanan Buhari, and other family members.
Atiku shared a photo of the visit on social media, describing it as an honour. He wrote:
> “I was honoured to host Hajiya Aisha Buhari, wife of former President Muhammadu Buhari, her daughter Hanan, and other family members during their visit to me in Saudi Arabia. Like me, the former First Lady and her family are in the Kingdom on a lesser hajj. -AA”
The visit is notable given the long-standing political rivalry between Atiku and the late President Buhari, who contested against each other in multiple presidential elections.
Despite their differences, both men publicly acknowledged each other’s roles in shaping Nigeria’s democratic landscape.
Interestingly, both Atiku and Aisha Buhari hail from Adamawa State, further highlighting the personal dimension of the meeting.
