Bandits storm Sokoto community, kill many, abduct others
Bandits on Wednesday night stormed the Dabagin Yari community in Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State, leaving several people dead and many others injured.
The attackers also kidnapped a large number of residents, including women and children, during the violent assault.
Security analyst Bakatsine shared details of the attack on Thursday in a post on X, highlighting the scale of the tragedy.
“Last night, bandits invaded the Dabagin Yari community in Wurno LGA of Sokoto State. During the attack, several residents were killed, many others sustained injuries, and a high number of people including women and children were abducted.
“The assault has left the community in deep fear and mourning. How can anyone justify calling such bandits MUSLIM or claiming their crimes are acts of JIHAD, when Islam clearly forbids the murder of innocents, the kidnapping of women and children, and the spreading of terror?,” Bakatsine wrote.
Authorities have yet to confirm details surrounding the incident.
