Chelsea came from behind twice to edge past Hollywood-owned Wrexham 4-2 in the FA Cup fifth round at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday, reaching the quarter-finals in a thrilling encounter.

Wrexham, watched by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, shocked Chelsea early through Sam Smith before an own goal levelled the scores just before half-time. Callum Doyle restored Wrexham’s lead in the 78th minute, only for Josh Acheampong to equalise minutes later.

The game turned in Chelsea’s favour when George Dobson was sent off for Wrexham in stoppage time. Extra-time strikes from Alejandro Garnacho and Joao Pedro sealed a dramatic victory for the Premier League side.

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior made nine changes to his starting lineup, balancing domestic and European commitments. Despite the loss, Wrexham impressed with a fearless display, having already knocked out Nottingham Forest earlier in the tournament.

Chelsea now focus on their Champions League last-16 clash with Paris Saint-Germain, while Wrexham aim to continue their promotion push to the Premier League.
