Insecurity: Defence Minister holds emergency meeting with Service Chiefs in Abuja
The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, is currently meeting with the service chiefs at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
Very Nigerian reports that the meeting is focused on addressing the rising level of insecurity across the country. The discussion comes as military bases in Nigeria’s North-East have faced recent attacks.
Also, three Commanding Officers of the Nigerian Army, of the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, were recently killed by terrorists in Borno State.
Those attending the meeting include the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke and Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass.
Security agencies, including the National Intelligence Agency, are also represented at the meeting.
