BREAKING: Ex-Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai loses mother, Hajiya Umma
Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, is in mourning following the death of his mother, Hajiya Umma, who passed away on Friday, March 27.
The El-Rufai family confirmed the sad news in an official statement, noting that the late matriarch had been battling age-related health challenges for some time, which reportedly worsened in recent weeks.
Family sources revealed that her condition further declined after learning about her son’s reported detention by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC). El-Rufai was said to have been actively involved in overseeing her care prior to her passing.
In the statement, the family prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannatul Firdaus.
The death of Hajiya Umma comes barely a week after the family suffered another loss with the passing of El-Rufai’s sister-in-law on March 20, marking a particularly difficult period for the family.
