2027: Kwankwaso in strategic talks with ADC, NDC — Kwankwasiyya movement confirms
The Kwankwasiyya Movement has confirmed that Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party and its 2023 presidential candidate, is currently in talks with the African Democratic Congress and the National Democratic Congress.
The movement’s Spokesperson II, Mansur Kurugu, confirmed the development on Monday, noting that the discussions could lead to a possible political alignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to Kurugu, no final decision has been reached, as consultations among the key political actors are still ongoing.
“It is true that Kwankwaso is in talks with ADC and NDC, and we are optimistic that the leaders will eventually adopt one of the parties before the 2027 elections,” he said.
He added that prominent figures including Seriake Dickson, Peter Obi, and Seyi Makinde are part of the ongoing negotiations, which he described as having made significant progress.
Kurugu further explained that the outcome of the talks could see the coalition settle for either ADC, NDC, or retain the NNPP as its political platform.
The development comes shortly after Kwankwaso hosted Makinde, Obi, and Dickson at a Sallah gathering in Kano on Sunday, further fuelling speculations of an emerging political alliance ahead of the next electoral cycle.
