The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of attempting to frustrate its planned opposition summit in Ibadan.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, made the allegation in a post shared on X, claiming that the ADC had uncovered moves to disrupt the gathering scheduled for April 25.

“We have uncovered plans by the ruling APC to disrupt the summit being held by the opposition parties in Ibadan,” Abdullahi said.

He further alleged that the ruling party has consistently created obstacles for opposition activities, noting that previous attempts to organise meetings in Abuja were also hindered.

“After denying us the use of venues in Abuja, they now will not leave us alone to hold our meetings,” he stated, adding that such actions contradict claims that the APC is unthreatened by opposition coalitions.

Despite the alleged pressure, Abdullahi insisted that the opposition would go ahead with the summit as planned.

“We will not be deterred, because we are on the side of the Nigerian people,” he added.

The claim comes amid rising political tensions and ongoing realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with opposition parties seeking to consolidate efforts against the ruling party.
