BREAKING: EFCC arrests Energy Commission DG over alleged N500bn money laundering

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested the Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, Mustapha Abdullahi, over alleged money laundering offences involving more than N500 billion.
It was gathered that Abdullahi was arrested in Abuja on Wednesday and is currently being detained by the anti-graft agency for further investigation.
Sources familiar with the matter disclosed that the investigation is linked to alleged financial transactions and suspected diversion of funds running into hundreds of billions of naira.
The EFCC is yet to issue an official statement on the arrest as of the time of filing this report.
