NDC appoints Obi critic Abuh Theophilus, Brian Dennis to lead media, strategic communications team
Theophilus had been a supporter of former VP, Atiku Abubakar and top critic of Mr Peter Obi the candidate of the NDC before his appointment.
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the appointment of Agada Abuh Theophilus as its Director of New Media and Strategic Communications, alongside Brian Dennis as Deputy Director of New Media and Strategic Communications.
The appointments, approved by the party’s leadership, are part of efforts to strengthen its media outreach and digital engagement ahead of the 2027 political cycle.
Theophilus, known on social media as @TheoAbuAgada, is a strategic communications professional with experience spanning political campaigns, corporate branding, institutional public relations and digital media strategy. He is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and holds a Master of Arts degree in Development Communication, with a focus on strategic communication for social and institutional development. He is currently a PhD candidate researching election administration and management.
Brian Dennis, who uses the handle @XBrianDennis, brings over seven years of experience in strategic and political communications. He holds a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution and has worked extensively in political messaging and advocacy communications.
In a statement, the NDC said the appointments reflect its commitment to building a stronger communication structure capable of shaping public engagement and amplifying the party’s message across traditional and digital platforms.
The party expressed confidence that both appointees would bring “energy, expertise and fresh perspective” to its communication strategy, strengthening its visibility and connection with Nigerians nationwide.
