Prominent Nigerian ICT strategist and business executive, Alhaji Ibrahim Hussaini Abdulkareem, has emerged as the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate for Kaduna State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

His emergence as the party’s flagbearer, according to party sources, signals a renewed emphasis on youth inclusion and leadership renewal within the NDC structure.

The announcement was made on social media by party loyalist Mallam Jabir, who shared photographs showing Abdulkareem receiving and displaying the party’s official nomination form for the governorship race.

Abdulkareem, who currently serves as a member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna South Federal Constituency, is said to have been actively involved in NDC activities in the state.

He has reportedly participated in stakeholder engagements, grassroots mobilisation efforts, and initiatives aimed at promoting unity, youth inclusion, and peaceful coexistence across Kaduna’s diverse communities.

In previous remarks attributed to him, Abdulkareem pledged to prioritise unity, peace, and inclusive governance if elected, stressing that Kaduna’s diversity should be seen as a strength rather than a source of division.
