President Bola Tinubu has sworn in two commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and six federal commissioners of the National Population Commission (NPC).

The swearing-in ceremony took place months after the president forwarded the names of several nominees to the Senate for confirmation.

The appointments were part of nominations for key federal agencies, including the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), the National Population Commission (NPC), the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), and the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Monday at the council chamber of the State House in Abuja, shortly before the commencement of the federal executive council (FEC) meeting presided over by Tinubu.

The new RMAFC commissioners are Amina Ibrahim Gamawa, representing Bauchi, and Abdullahi Mukhtar, representing Kaduna.

Prior to her nomination, Hajiya Amina Gamawa was the deputy director, administration (presidential liaison) of the All Progressives Congress, responsible for ensuring effective administrative coordination and maintaining a seamless liaison between the party’s national secretariat and the presidency.

Tinubu also administered the oath of office to Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi (Ekiti), Nasiru Mu’azu (Zamfara), Isaka Alada Yahaya (Kwara), Sadiq Isah Radda (Katsina), Suleiman Umar (Jigawa), and Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo (Sokoto) as federal commissioners of the NPC.

Vice-President Kashim Shettima, George Akume, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF); Femi Gbajabiamila, chief of staff to the president; Didi Esther Walson-Jack, head of the civil service of the federation; ministers and presidential aides attended the ceremony.

Following the inauguration, the FEC meeting commenced with ministers expected to present memoranda on priority government policies and programmes for consideration.
