Akwa Ibom SUBEB begins recruitment of 1,000 Teachers for public Primary, Junior Secondary Schools
The Akwa Ibom State Universal Basic Education Board (AK-SUBEB) has announced the commencement of the recruitment of 1,000 qualified teachers to fill vacancies in public primary and junior secondary schools across the state.
The Board said the exercise is part of efforts to improve the teacher-to-pupil ratio, enhance learning outcomes and support the state government’s commitment to delivering quality basic education under the ARISE Agenda.
According to the Board, the recruitment process will be transparent, merit-based and open only to suitably qualified indigenes of Akwa Ibom State.
Eligibility
Interested applicants must possess any of the following qualifications from recognised institutions:
- Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE)
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
- Bachelor of Arts in Education [B.A. (Ed)]
- Bachelor of Science in Education [B.Sc. (Ed)]
Only candidates who meet the required qualifications will be considered for the next stage of the recruitment process.
Application Process
Applications are to be submitted online through the ARISE Youth Employment Portal.

Opening Date: Wednesday, July 1, 2026
Closing Date: Tuesday, July 21, 2026
Applicants are advised to complete and submit their applications before the closing date, as late submissions may not be accepted.
Computer-Based Test for Shortlisted Candidates
The Board stated that only shortlisted applicants will be invited to participate in a Computer-Based Test (CBT), which will form part of the selection process.
Merit-Based Recruitment
AK-SUBEB reiterated that the recruitment exercise will be conducted strictly on merit and urged qualified Akwa Ibom indigenes interested in teaching careers to take advantage of the opportunity.
