Makinde fires Oyo Women Affairs commissioner, names replacement

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has relieved the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Mrs Toyin Balogun, of her appointment.

The decision was announced on Wednesday in a statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju.

According to the statement, Alhaja Joke Sanni, who previously served as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, has been appointed to replace Balogun.

Governor Makinde expressed appreciation to Balogun for her service and contributions to the development of Oyo State. He also wished her success in her future endeavours.

Very Nigerian gathered that Sanni, had earlier served as the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion from 2019 to 2023.

She was later moved to the Ministry of Special Duties in 2023 before being recently redeployed to the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperative.

The statement added that the new redeployment takes immediate effect
