BREAKING: Makinde restricts night motorcycle operations over insecurity in Oyo
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has ordered the restriction of motorcycle operations between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. as part of efforts to tackle insecurity in the state.
The governor announced the directive through an Executive Order issued on Friday, stressing that the state government remains committed to securing the release of the abducted teachers and schoolchildren.
Makinde said the administration would continue to intensify efforts until all the victims regain their freedom and reunite with their families.
According to the governor, each day the victims spend in captivity brings pain not only to their loved ones but also to the entire state, underscoring the urgency of ongoing rescue efforts.
He assured Oyo residents that efforts were ongoing around the clock, stressing that the safe return of those abducted remains a tough conversation for his administration.
Makinde added that the victims have not been forgotten and they have not been abandoned.
“We may not be able to disclose every step being taken because of the sensitive nature of the operations involved, but I ask our people not to mistake our silence for inaction. A great deal of work is being done behind the scenes,” he said.
