OsunDecides2026: Woman with disability commends INEC officials over fair treatment
A physically challenged voter, Aminat Akinsola, has expressed satisfaction with the treatment she received from officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the ongoing Osun State governorship election.
Akinsola, who cast her vote at Ward 4, Unit 6, Ejigbo, said she was particularly pleased with the attention and assistance provided to her at the polling unit.
She appreciated the INEC officials for making the voting process easier and more accessible despite her physical condition.
“I’m so happy because I was treated with respect while I was trying to cast my vote. I was even the first person to be accredited,” she said.
Akinsola applauded the peaceful conduct of the voting process, expressing the confidence that the eventual outcome of the election would reflect the will of the people of Osun State.
Meanwhile, security personnel deployed to the polling unit were seen maintaining order and coordinating arrangements to ensure that voters could exercise their franchise without disruption.
Young voters were also organised separately according to gender as part of measures to ensure an orderly voting process.
