Osun poll: APM, NNPP, others absent as APC, ADC, Accord agents take over Ejigbo polling units

Several political parties taking part in the Osun State governorship election were without visible agents at some polling units monitored in Ejigbo on Saturday.

As voting got underway, only agents of the All Progressives Congress (APC), African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Accord Party were seen at the polling units visited by our correspondent.

The development was observed despite the participation of 17 political parties in the governorship election.

Among the parties whose agents were not visibly present at the affected polling units were the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), African Action Congress (AAC), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), African Democratic Party (ADP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Boot Party.

The development left APC, ADC and Accord agents to monitor the voting process at some of the polling units visited by the correspondent.

At Unit 009, Open Space, opposite Alasepo Food Canteen, Ward 001, Ejigbo, agents of some of the parties were seen carrying out their duties as voters were accredited and cast their ballots.

Similarly, at other polling units across Ejigbo, voters turned out to exercise their franchise, while the visible party agents monitored the process on behalf of their candidates.

The absence of agents from several participating parties was noticeable as the poll progressed, raising questions about the level of representation of the affected parties at the grassroots.
