Nigerian defender, Chukwuma Eze, has joined Spanish club Villarreal on a season-long loan from Real Oviedo.

Villarreal confirmed the move in a statement on its official website, announcing that the 22-year-old will feature for the club’s B team during the 2026/27 season.

Eze joined Real Oviedo from Ajuwa Academy in 2021 and progressed through the Spanish club’s youth system.

The defender will now continue his development with Villarreal B as he looks to gain more experience in Spanish football.

The centre-back previously enjoyed loan spells with CD Llanes, L’Entregu CF and Real Avilés. He recently extended his contract to 2029.

Eze made 18 appearances during his loan spell with Real Avilés last season.

He has made one senior appearance for Real Oviedo against Levante in April 2025.
