Bandits storm Sokoto community, abduct eight residents, steal livestock

The attackers were said to have moved around the village during the raid before leaving with the abducted residents and livestock.

Bandits have attacked Saketa village in Dinawa Ward, Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State, abducting eight residents and taking away several livestock.

The incident was reported in a post shared on X on Sunday night by security analyst Bakatsine.

According to the analyst, the armed attackers invaded the community at about 1:00 a.m. and reportedly spent several hours carrying out the operation.

The attackers were said to have moved around the village during the raid before leaving with the abducted residents and livestock.

He said residents attempted to resist the attackers but the bandits managed to overpower them and escaped with eight people and several animals.

“Last night, bandits attacked Saketa village in Dinawa ward, Wurno LGA of Sokoto State, abducting eight residents and rustling several livestock.

“The bandits, armed with dangerous weapons, stormed the village around 1AM midnight and reportedly spent hours carrying out the operation,” Bakatsine wrote.
