Wike, Keyamo, Defence Minister absent as Tinubu chairs FEC meeting in Abuja
President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House in Abuja, with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and two other ministers absent.
Tinubu arrived at the Council Chambers at noon for the weekly meeting, which was attended by most members of his cabinet.
However, checks showed that Wike, the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, and the Minister of Defence, retired General Christopher Musa, were not present.
The meeting, which is the highest decision-making body of the executive, was meant to deliberate on key national issues, including approval of some major infrastructure projects and policy matters.
At the time of filing this report, the Presidency has not given any official reason for the absence of the FCT Minister and others.
Meanwhile, the development has generated massive reactions with many Nigerians asking why Wike and other ministers were absent from such an important meeting.
