All passengers and crew members aboard a Flybird Aircraft Management Services Ltd aircraft were safely evacuated on Sunday morning following what the airline described as an unusual landing at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport.

The aircraft, with registration number 5N-ISB, was en route from Abuja to Kano when it reportedly experienced difficulties during landing at about 9:30 a.m. There were 11 passengers and three crew members on board the flight at the time of the incident.

According to reports, the aircraft came to a halt on the runway shortly after landing, prompting an immediate evacuation as a precautionary measure. No injuries were recorded among passengers or crew.

In a statement issued from Lagos, Flybird confirmed the incident, describing it as an “unusual landing” and stressing that all standard safety and operational procedures were duly followed.

“The flight crew followed all established operational and safety procedures, bringing the aircraft to a safe stop. All passengers and crew disembarked safely with no injuries recorded,” the airline said.

Flybird further disclosed that the aircraft has since been secured and the incident formally reported to the relevant aviation authorities. The airline noted that a detailed technical inspection and investigation are currently underway to determine the cause of the occurrence.

Reaffirming its commitment to passenger safety and operational excellence, Flybird assured the public of its full cooperation with aviation authorities as investigations continue.
