Gov Fubara to commission 1,000 affordable homes by TAF Global
TAF Global, winner of the Affordable Housing Company of the Year 2025 award, has recorded a major milestone in Nigeria’s housing sector with the completion of 1,000 affordable housing units, now ready for commissioning by Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on December 15, 2025.
The development marks a significant step in efforts to tackle Africa’s growing housing deficit and reinforces the role of private sector-led solutions in delivering large-scale, affordable homes.
TAF Global was recently crowned Affordable Housing Company of the Year at the 7th Africa Housing Awards held in Abuja, an event that brought together key stakeholders, policymakers and industry leaders from across the continent.
Reacting to the development, Convener of the Africa Housing Awards and Chief Executive Officer of Housing TV Show, Barrister Festus Adebayo, described the delivery of the 1,000 housing units as “a step in the right direction” in addressing Africa’s urgent housing challenges.
“This achievement comes immediately after the Africa Housing Awards brainstorming session on December 12, where stakeholders deliberated on practical solutions to the continent’s housing crisis,” Adebayo said.
“It shows that beyond conversations, real action is possible.”
He noted that the awards platform continues to celebrate professionals and organisations that are translating expertise into tangible impact, while maintaining a zero-tolerance stance against scammers and unethical practices in the housing sector.
TAF Global is led by its Global Chief Executive Officer, Mustapha Njie, popularly known as TAF, a Gambian real estate entrepreneur widely recognised for driving large-scale, affordable housing projects across sub-Saharan Africa.
The company’s flagship developments include Greater TAF City in Nigeria and TAF City in The Gambia.
Congratulating Njie, Adebayo said the milestone was a fitting way to close the year.
“Congratulations, my brother and friend, Mustapha Njie, President of TAF Global. What a good way to end 2025. I look forward to more good news from our award winners,” he said.
He added that the Africa Housing Awards will continue to spotlight exceptional individuals and organisations committed to improving the housing sector and delivering affordable homes for citizens across Nigeria and the wider African continent.
