BREAKING: Chimamanda Adichie, Husband lose one of their twin sons
Renowned Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and her husband, Dr. Ivara Esege, are reportedly mourning the loss of one of their twin sons, Nkanu Nnamdi, who passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, after a brief illness.
Details surrounding the circumstances of the child’s death remain limited as the family has not made an official public statement at the time of this report.
The development has, however, sparked an outpouring of sympathy from admirers, readers, and members of the literary and academic communities, who have continued to express condolences and support for the family.
Chimamanda Adichie, widely celebrated for her literary contributions and global influence, is known for keeping her private life largely away from public attention.
As of press time, the family has yet to announce burial arrangements or further details.
