Atiku’s son officially joins APC, says ‘no one can defeat Tinubu’ in 2027

Abba Atiku, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that no political party stands a chance against President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Abba made the declaration on Monday in Yola after receiving his APC membership card at Gwadabawa Ward in Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Explaining his decision to join the ruling party, Abba said he was impressed by what he described as President Tinubu’s far-reaching economic reforms, human capital development initiatives and overall national progress.

According to him, the president’s leadership style is rooted in merit rather than ethnic or religious considerations.

“I want to state clearly that nobody and no political party can stop President Bola Tinubu from returning to Aso Rock in 2027. Nigerians can see his work. He is not a tribalist and does not make appointments based on religion or region; he takes decisions purely on merit,” Abba said.

He urged Nigerians to rally behind the president regardless of party affiliation, stressing that sustained public support was necessary for Tinubu to consolidate on his reforms and development agenda.

Receiving him into the party, APC Zonal Vice Chairman for Adamawa Central, Alhaji Isa Bagalti, described Abba’s defection as further proof that the APC remains firmly positioned ahead of the 2027 polls.

Also speaking, a prominent APC chieftain in the state, Alhaji Jamil Yusuf, dismissed potential challengers to President Tinubu as lacking both the structure and credibility required to pose a serious threat.

Abba Atiku’s defection has drawn significant attention, given that his father, Atiku Abubakar, is a leading presidential hopeful on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
