BREAKING: Tinubu orders final review of Ambassadorial Nominees amid U.S. threats

President Bola Tinubu is reportedly preparing to finalise and unveil the appointment of Nigeria’s new ambassadors to various foreign missions across the world.

The move comes after months of growing concern over the absence of Nigerian envoys abroad, which has persisted for nearly two years following the mass recall of the previous ambassadors.

Very Nigerian reports that the President has ordered a “final cleanup” of the ambassadorial nominees list, signalling that an official announcement is imminent.

This renewed push to fill key diplomatic positions comes amid heightened engagement between Abuja and Washington, following recent threats from US President Donald Trump over alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

Diplomatic experts have described the absence of ambassadors as a major setback for Nigeria’s foreign relations, warning that it leaves the nation exposed to external pressures.

Analysts speaking on Arise News and other platforms have urged the government to fast-track the appointments to restore Nigeria’s diplomatic presence and strengthen its voice in international affairs.

The forthcoming list is expected to reflect the Tinubu administration’s resolve to rebuild Nigeria’s foreign service and address pressing diplomatic gaps in light of evolving global challenges.
