The Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan-Waya has confirmed receiving ₦31,335,500.00 from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as payment for institutional fees.

NELFUND announced on Wednesday that the money would cover “479 students under the first batch of the 2025/2026 academic session.”

The college said the funds were paid on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

In an acknowledgement letter signed by the Acting Director of ICT, Nyalla Gajere, the institution stated that it received “the sum of Thirty One Million Three Hundred and Thirty Five Thousand Five Hundred Naira Only (N31,335,500.00), being Institutional Fees Loan, for four hundred and seventy nine (479) students under our first batch of 2025/2026 academic session.”

The letter, issued on behalf of the management, staff and students of the college, expressed appreciation to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NELFUND and the agency’s staff for what it described as their “tireless effort toward the achievement of the success recorded so far.”

It also conveyed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his “humanitarian and creative initiatives,” and prayed for the programme’s sustainability.

The disbursement forms part of the institutional fees loan arrangement for eligible students in the current academic session.

A few days ago, NELFUND also announced that it had disbursed a total of ₦392,876,550 in student loans to Delta State University, Abraka and explained that the funding will benefit 1,854 students, providing critical financial support to alleviate challenges and allow them to focus on their academic pursuits.
