Naira strengthens to N1,410/$ in parallel market

The naira recorded a slight gain on Friday, appreciating to N1,410 per dollar in the parallel market, an improvement from N1,418 per dollar traded on Thursday.
The local currency also strengthened in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market, NFEM, where it closed at N1,363.5 per dollar.
Figures released by the Central Bank of Nigeria showed that the indicative exchange rate dropped from N1,370 per dollar on Thursday to N1,363.5 per dollar.
Consequently, the margin between the parallel and official markets narrowed to N46.5 per dollar from N48 per dollar on Thursday.
