Sultan of Sokoto meets Tinubu at Presidential Villa (Photos)
The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III, on Sunday paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting took place at the State House in the nation’s capital.
The visit was confirmed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Onanuga shared the update on his X account along with official photographs from the meeting. In his post, he wrote: “Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III visited President Tinubu at the State House Abuja on Sunday March 15.”
President Tinubu and the Sultan are Nigeria’s highest political and spiritual authorities, respectively.
The Sultan serves as the traditional and religious leader of Muslims across the country.
No details of the topics discussed had been revealed as of the time of filing this report.
However, such high-level courtesy visits are typically used to strengthen national unity, promote peace, and address matters of governance and security.
