Osimhen, Nwabali missing as Chelle unveils 23-man squad ahead of Super Eagles friendlies in Turkey

Super Eagles Head Coach Eric Chelle has named Wilfred Ndidi as captain, alongside Alex Iwobi and Ademola Lookman, in a 23-man squad for upcoming friendlies against Iran and Jordan.

The matches, initially set for Amman, were relocated to Antalya due to recent military tensions in the Middle East.

According to a statement by Ademola Olajire, the Nigeria Football Federation’s Director of Communications, the Super Eagles will face Iran on March 27 at 4 p.m. and Jordan on March 31 at 8 p.m.

He said Chelle also invited Maduka Okoye, Oluwasemilogo Ajayi, Frank Onyeka, Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, Akor Adams and Paul Onuachu.

“Debut call-ups were handed to Emmanuel Fernandez, Philip Otele and Collins Yira Sor, while Adeleye Adebayo returns to the squad,” he added.

Goalkeepers: Maduka Okoye, Adeleye Adebayo, Francis Uzoho.

Defenders: Calvin Bassey, Oluwasemilogo Ajayi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Bruno Onyemaechi, Zaidu Sanusi, Igoh Ogbu, Emmanuel Fernandez.

Midfielders: Alex Iwobi, Frank Onyeka, Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.

Forwards: Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Chidera Ejuke, Paul Onuachu, Akor Adams, Philip Otele, Collins Yira Sor. (NAN)
