The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory Council, Comrade Grace Ike, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful in the FCT on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.

In a goodwill message, Ike described Ramadan as a period of deep spiritual reflection, self-discipline, sacrifice, and renewed commitment to the service of humanity. She commended Muslim faithful for their devotion throughout the fasting period, noting that the values demonstrated during Ramadan are essential for promoting peaceful coexistence and social harmony.

She urged journalists and other professionals to sustain the virtues of patience, tolerance, compassion, and generosity imbibed during the holy month, stressing that these principles are vital for strengthening unity within society and advancing national development.

The NUJ FCT chairman also called on Nigerians, regardless of religious or ethnic background, to embrace the spirit of unity and mutual respect, describing the country’s diversity as a major strength that must be harnessed for collective progress.

Ike further encouraged citizens to extend acts of kindness to the less privileged, noting that Eid-el-Fitr is not only a time for celebration but also a season of sharing and empathy.

She also charged leaders at all levels to reflect on the lessons of sacrifice and service associated with Ramadan by promoting policies that encourage inclusiveness, accountability, and the overall well-being of the people.

While wishing Muslims a peaceful celebration, she advised citizens to observe the festivities responsibly and in line with public safety guidelines.

On behalf of the NUJ FCT Council, Ike wished all Muslim faithful a joyful and fulfilling Eid-el-Fitr, praying that the season brings renewed hope, unity, and prosperity to Nigeria.
