Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has returned to the State High Court in Kaduna following the burial of his mother.
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) had earlier granted him temporary release to attend the burial rites of his late mother, Hajiya Umma. Her passing was announced on Friday evening by her grandson, Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, via a post on X.
El-Rufai has been in ICPC custody since February 19, 2026, facing allegations related to the conversion of public assets and money laundering.
He was previously arraigned before a Federal High Court in Kaduna on a 10-count charge.
The court adjourned ruling on his bail application to March 31, when proceedings are expected to continue.
