Alleged Israeli spy executed in Iran
Iran has executed a man accused of spying for Israel’s foreign intelligence service, Mossad, as regional tensions and violence continue to rise.
Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported that the suspect was arrested in a rural area west of Tehran during a 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel in June.
Authorities said he supplied Israel with images and sensitive intelligence on strategic sites.
Iranian officials say several individuals have been detained on suspicion of espionage following the June hostilities, with unverified reports suggesting that more than 10 people may have been executed.
Human rights groups have repeatedly condemned Iran’s use of the death penalty, arguing that it is often used to suppress dissent.
Data from the United Nations indicates that over 1,000 executions were carried out in Iran in 2025.
