Anthony Joshua’s aides to be laid to rest in London Sunday
The Janaza (funeral) prayer for Sina Ghami and Abdul Latif Kevin Ayodele, close associates of heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua, has been scheduled for Sunday, January 4, 2026, in London.
The bodies of Ghami and Ayodele were repatriated to the United Kingdom following the fatal road accident that occurred in Nigeria late last year. According to details released on Saturday, the funeral prayer will take place at the London Central Mosque, 146 Park Road, London NW8 7RG, and is billed to commence at 10:00am.
In a statement announcing the service, Boxing King Media expressed condolences to the bereaved families, saying, “Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones.”
Ghami, who served as Joshua’s strength and conditioning coach, and Ayodele, popularly known as “Latz,” his personal trainer, died on Monday, December 29, 2025, in a tragic road crash along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in the Makun area of Ogun State.
The accident occurred when a Lexus SUV conveying Anthony Joshua and members of his team collided with a stationary truck. While the former world heavyweight champion sustained minor injuries and survived the crash, both Ghami and Ayodele died at the scene.
The Janaza prayer in London is expected to draw family members, friends, and figures from the global boxing community, who will gather to pay their final respects to the late trainers.
